As an Electrical Engineer at GWC, you will play a key role in designing cutting-edge solutions that meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the advancement of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Create detailed electrical designs, schematics, and system layouts for various projects. Develop and test electrical systems and components to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
Project Management: Manage and oversee electrical engineering projects from concept through completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety requirements.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues and failures. Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other project components.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, specifications, and test results. Create and update project reports and technical documentation as needed. Develop CAD drawings to support electrical systems design development and communication with clients and contractors.
Project Support: Travel to client facilities to perform field work, conduct project design review meetings, and collaborate with clients, vendors, and GWC personnel to execute the design development efficiently and timely.
Compliance: Ensure all electrical systems and designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes. Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering practices and technologies.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to become licensed in multiple states.
Experience: 10+ years (Engineer III) or 20+ years (Engineer IV) of experience in electrical engineering, including experience with electrical power distribution (12VDC and 120V AC to 4kV AC) design, district substation (10kV) integration, and switchgear systems up to 26kV
Skills: Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical power systems, components, and principles including for commercial buildings and industrial manufacturing applications. An in-depth understanding of NFPA 70
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Understanding that even the most experienced engineers make mistakes and a growth mindset is the only way to support the company’s and our client’s mission.
Location: All candidates for consideration must be US Citizens and located within the United States to support our clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with low and medium voltage power systems, PLCs, Rockwell Automation, GE Controls, and HMIs.
Knowledge of National Electric Code, NFPA, and good programming practices.
Working Conditions
This position routinely operates in a home office environment with occasional travel to client sites and company meetings.
Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
